This is a page describing happenings in the Yale-NUS College Astronomy and Astrophysics program.  This site will post pictures, movies, and information on events related to astronomy and astrophysics at Yale-NUS College, Singapore. Please send me any pictures you would like to post to bryan.penprase@yale-nus.edu.sg, and I will add them to our blog!  You can also find out more about astronomy at Yale-NUS College Astronomy Club, which also has a Facebook group known as Ashen Light – our Yale-NUS Students post regularly on this site so you can get involved in star parties and other astronomical happenings (see https://www.facebook.com/groups/544216299044568/)

I am also going to use this page for my Yale-NUS astronomy course YSC 2217, entitled “Observational Astronomy.”  As the course develops, we will upload new images, articles and discoveries by our class, as well as useful resources in learning observational astronomy. During the course will be visiting Chiang Mai Thailand on a field trip to the Thai National Observatory (NARIT), and using a variety of remotely operated telescopes, including the Las Campanas Remote Observatory (LCRO), the CTIO 1.3-meter telescope, and a set of telescopes which are part of a network known as Skynet.

Finally if you would like to join in helping maintain and author for this blog, again send an email to me – bryan.penprase@yale-nus.edu.sg, and I can add you to the list of registered authors.
